"You know, we’ve seen Beth lose her father and leave the farm where she grew up. And she teamed up with Daryl last year and he definitely, you know, taught her some survival skills. And she’s lived a little now; she’s not just an innocent teenager anymore. She’s lived a little and she’s taking all those things that she’s learned and she’s taking a different king of strength into season five. And she’ll have to use everything she’s got.”

How much of Daryl do you see in yourself and how much of yourself do you see in Daryl?

mybethylconfessional:

Because this is one of my favorite Bethyl fanvids, created by the amazing, and always awesome fabledfangirl.

As I was watching it though, I actually did kinda realize some things that brought up some questions for me about the upcoming season.

When Daryl is giving a piggyback ride to Beth through the grave yard, she tells him "there’s still good people in the world Daryl." To which he replies, "I don’t think the good ones survive."

And this makes me think of a few possibilities:

1) Beth fights her way out of the “system,” she’s held captive in, but she’s changed - jaded if you will. We see that she gave Daryl hope at the end of season 4. He finally accepted that hope when he laid eyes upon Rick and the group when Joe’s people came up on them in the middle of the night. His way of affirming that hope, in my humble opinion only, is when he told Joe "these are good people." I wonder if Beth loses quite a bit of that flame that drew Daryl to her in the first place, that hope and spark of happiness, and if Daryl is going to have to help her get it back. Whether it’s through talking, letting the others know to give her some space, or hell… even a full blown argument like they had in “Still.”

2) Beth almost makes it back to Daryl, but something happens to her - right before they come back together. Only for Daryl to watch her die. With TWD, I wouldn’t put it past them to do this as they love to throw curve balls. This could be the heartwarming/heartbreaking thing Gimple had talked about before. Personally though, I’m not sure I see that happening, based on the fact that EK has bought a place down in Georgia to live at - while the series goes on. it wouldn’t make sense to just buy a place this year, only to give it back up within the same year. (Unless the chick is doing a monthly leasing thing… who knows). Not only that, it wouldn’t make sense to give her a huge story arc, just to kill her off with absolutely no pay off. So theory 2, is shaky… But I keep it on the back burner. Just in case.

3) Daryl still feels an insane amount of guilt about how things when down with her father Hershel. "Maybe if I wouldn’t have stopped lookin’, I gave up… That’s on me," he does not want to make this same mistake twice with Beth. It’s going to ignite a fire within him to actively look for Beth (and gee… what do you know! From the spoilers, Daryl seems to be doing that). Not only that, he knows Beth is goodness and hope, he needs that constant source for it now. It’s grown on him. He’s fond of it, and in turn he’s also become a lot more fonder of her now… Even if he’s not aware of that quite yet. Something tells me that Carol is going to figure this out, and bring it up with him on their search for Beth in season 5. Something also tells me that if a main character death does happen this season, for some reason it could be Carol, it could happen while they’re on this search (possibly), and Daryl is going to feel guilt over it. Which could complicate how he starts to view Beth (temporarily, and by that I mean how he views his feelings for her I.E. “Did my feelings for this girl and need to get her back, just kill my best friend?”).

Again, these are just all theories and guesses. Absolutely nothing more than that. If you wanna share your own or discuss them, that’s cool. Reblog it and share.

Have a good one!

P.S. Thanks to Darcy for basically inspiring this theories post with her amazing video lol. <3

Anonymous asked, "I heard there was good news for the Bethyl ship? Mind filling an excited fangirl in?"

bethylforever:

The whole two days have been awesome for Bethyl (and Normily!) here are some interviews if you haven’t seen them :)

These interviews:

(If there’s some newer ones out I haven’t seen them yet!)

"That’s what made it effective, when you’re standing there listening to her play piano, you’re just standing there watching her. And you feel like he’s thinking, ‘This may be the last living person I ever see.’ So, I thought that was a really great connection. A lot of it wasn’t in the script. The script wasn’t like, ‘Beth and Daryl totally hook up.’ It wasn’t there. But when I watched the episode, I felt I kind of wanted that, which was what he brings to it and what Emily brought to it." — Greg Nicotero  (via bethylforever)

"When they pitched Season 4, they were talking about when the prison goes down and having Daryl and Beth be bunkered together. And it’s interesting because I get to see all the cuts and I see all the edits from the director’s cuts onward. And I loved the scene in the kitchen when they’re talking, and I got the sense that Daryl was starting to kind of fall in love with Beth a little." — Greg Nicotero (x)
